Cities are getting warmer. Without protection the extreme heat can impair the use of urban spaces. Trees need years to grow and it is not always possible to build big shading structures.

However urban furniture could integrate shading and protect us from direct sunshine. Each of my three concepts provides an answer by its particular design.

The concept “ARBOR” maximizes its cast shadow. The green “PERGOLA” modules can connect to form a shaded green zone with a public water tap. The concept “UMBRA” swivels for shadow or sunshine.
